We’re There Pet Care (WTPC) was one of the first established dog walking and cat sitting businesses in the city. In 2002, the business was purchased by new owners and moved its headquarters to Family Pet Animal Hospital in Lincoln Park. We continue to provide the highest quality services in the city. Being a small company, we can give your pets the personalized service and attention they deserve. Our company has an experienced, dedicated and friendly staff. Over time, we have built lasting relationships between our employees and our clients.

Meet The Owner, Desi

Hello everyone! I am Desi, the owner and manager of We’re There Pet Care. I’ve always been passionate about animal care and started working with them as soon as I was able.

My family and I moved to the United States in 1995, and shortly after, at the age of 18, I began working at Family Pet Animal Hospital. Having left behind a beloved dog, finding a career working with animals brought me immense joy.

Between 1995 and 2002, I gained invaluable industry experience as a veterinary technician and manager. In 2002, the hospital’s owners offered me the opportunity to partner with them in purchasing We’re There Pet Care from its retiring founders. As a 23-year-old first-generation immigrant, I was honored to enter a partnership with two of Chicago’s most successful veterinarians.

With my family’s support, I secured the necessary investment and officially assumed operations in September 2002. While my original partners have since moved on, I have remained the sole owner and have proudly operated the business for over two decades.

As a client, you also have access to the software and can schedule or make changes to services online. We love this software because it provides seamless communication from the sitter to the client with summaries and a photo of their adventures emailed directly to the client after each visit.
